NARS Audacious Lipsticks

Hi! It has been a while! And yay! Ive given birth to a beautiful baby boy and that explains why I havent been blogging! So sorry! I know I know. But Im trying to be good at doing new posts for you guys so I will start off with this one.

So.. I have no idea, why I have been getting so many new lipsticks lately, as you know, I am a blush person and I would usually splurge on blushes but now Ive been spending a lot of money on lipsticks! But its okay, that means more new posts coming up for you.

So I got two shades of the NARS Audacious lipsticks in Jane and Vivien. And I am in LOVE! I was going back and forth thinking whether I should get them cause they were a bit pricey but I have heard good reviews on them so I decided to just get them!

NARS Audacious Lipsticks

Price: BND 50
Where: Local Instagram Seller (hautecolors)

So I will show you how Vivien and Jane look on me. For your reference, I am an NW20 in MAC.

Jane is described as a terracotta rose

Vivien is described as a red plum

I love both of them! They are so worth the price, I feel. Both of them are creamy but not to the extend where they will slide off your lips, but they glide nicely and evenly on the lips and they are very moisturizing! I think I want to get the shade Anita next but we will see. Hehehehe. Ok! That is all. Sorry for the short post but it is a good start so please bear with me.

Until then! Talk to you soon!!! xoxo

LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss

Hi gals!

I know I know. I haven't been blogging just cause I have been busy with work and being pregnant and all that. I am about to give birth soon so I have decided to start blogging again since my maternity leave is around the corner!

So tonight, I want to share with you my thoughts on the LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Gloss (and in short, "matte glosses" we shall call them).

I own three out of the many colours. From left to right: Secret, Rebel and Dreamy.

Liquid lipsticks are definitely a trend now I think every brand I know is making them! They provide a matte flat finish and claim to last all day, which I can say.. Is true.

Top to Bottom: Dreamy, Rebel, Secret

Secret: A deep red with a fuschia undertone. This has a gorgeous pigmentation but the downside is that it applies a bit streaky on the lips.

Rebel: A dark plummy colour. Love this! This, however, does not apply streaky. This colour suits everybody, in my opinion.

Dreamy: A nude peach. This serves as an everyday colour for work or a casual day out! The only downside is that, it may look a bit dull on girls with medium dark to dark skintones.

You can find this cheap at www.allwholesalecosmetics.com but shipping charges can be a pain to Brunei!  This bad boys only cost about USD 4.95 (approximately BND 6.60) each and you get 5.0 grams of product! Not bad at all.

The only downside that I have, with them is the doe foot applicator. I HATE it! It's so long and somewhat "spoony", which I feel makes it difficult to apply nicely on the lips because of the excess product it scoops out. I wish it came with an applicator just like the Lime Crime Velvetines ones, those I like! Overall, I like the colours and I like the longevity of them. Highly recommend them to those of you who are looking for long wearing and pigmented liquid lipsticks! Let me know which ones you got!

**Update: Never tried swatching them on my hands until doing this post and these things won't budge! I have used wet tissue and make up wipes but it was still there so I had to use my trusty Shiseido eye and lip make up remover.

My Top 5 High End Lipsticks

Hi girls!

This morning, I was texted by a good friend and she requested me to do a post on my favourite lipsticks, lip balms and lip glosses. So what I am going to do is sort of do a lip post series where I will be talking about my top 5 high end and drugstore brands lipsticks, lip balms and lip glosses.

So let's just get to it. Ive done swatches on the lips and for reference,  I am an NW20 in MAC and I want to show you how the colours look like against my skin tone.

Top 5 High End Lipsticks

**Please note that I am wearing the lipsticks on their own, no lip balm or any base underneath and no foundation or whatsoever to bring out the colours.**

1. YSL Rouge Volupte in 23 Luscious Pink
I love YSL lipsticks, they are very expensive but then again you are paying for the quality of the lipsticks, not just the brand. They go on smoothly and they are the most buttery lipsticks that I have ever tried! They make my lips look fuller (no lip liner needed) which I always aim for, and what's nice is the staying power is quite decent. Nothing like the Lime Crime Velvetines but then again, you get a good 3-4 hours of wear as it leaves a stain on the lips when wiped. I love them so much that I don't mind the hefty price tag. I do have other colours besides Luscious Pink but I find myself reaching for this more often.

Where you can get this? Saks Fifth Avenue (They ship to Brunei)
For how much? USD 36 (approximately BND 49)

2. Dior Addict Lipstick in 578 Dior Kiss
My first love! I saw the girl in the Dior ad wearing this lipstick and I remembered immediately asking the sales assistant what shade the model was wearing and she gave me the sample of this. Refusing to test the colour in store, I told her I wanted the lipstick as well as the matching lipgloss and I definitely did not regret! A beautiful glossy toned down barbie pink that gives life to a simple look!

Where you can get this? Saks Fifth Avenue (They ship to Brunei)
For how much? USD 33 (approximately BND 45)

3. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Rivage
This is an awesome lipstick with an amazing formulation. It is moisturising and buttery but the downside is the staying power. You need to keep reapplying this. It does not leave a stain like the YSL rouge voluptes do but nevertheless, I do love this shade whenever I want to go for a pinkish nude lips.

Where you can get this? Any nearest Parkson Malaysia or any Sephora
For how much? RM90 (approximately BND 38)

4. MAC Lipstick in Viva Glam 1
This is my go to red whenever I am feeling bold. It is a matte finish and it can be a tad bit drying but you can always wear a lip balm underneath. I don't like glossy reds as they are not flattering on my skin tone but deep reds like this, especially when it is matte, can never go wrong for me. LOVE THIS!

Where you can get this? Any MAC stores
For how much? RM 70 excluding GST (approximately BND 30)

5. Tarte Lip Surgence Matte Lip Tint in Envy
I call this my "working lipstick". For work, I sometimes want to use a bit of a lip colour just to give life to my tired face (lol!) and I find myself reaching for this often. It has a minty scent which I like and a tingling sensation to the lips but nothing crazy. It is not a lip plumper but somehow it gives you that nice pout on the lips which I adore. Envy is one of the many colours I like from the Tarte Matte Lip Surgence line. But I do need another Envy as I am running out with mine!

Where you can get this? Zalora (They ship to Brunei)
For how much? RM 90 excluding GST (approximately BND 38)

So I hope you find this helpful. Stay tuned for another of my lip series post, next will be my top 5 drugstore lipsticks! I also want to give a shoutout to my friend who requested this post, you know who you are! Thank you for reading and supporting me with my blog. Xx

March 2015 Favourites!

Hi lovelies!

I am sorry I have not been blogging, work just consumed most of my energy therefore I have been sleeping reaaaaaaalllyyyy early lately!

So I thought I would do a March favourites blog post for you all and I hope you enjoy!

1. Make Up  HD Primer No. 6
I have been using this primer for the last month. Since it is a yellow based primer, I like how it makes my skin look more awake than how it actually is! I'm halfway done with this bottle.

2. Elf Powder Blush in Peachy Keen
I've had this blush for a while and never really got to use this until early March. I was rummaging through my blush collection searching for a good cheap blush that I can use everyday for work and found this! Since then, I've been using this blush religiously for work! Nice sheen for an everyday look making you look fresh!

3. EOS lip balm in Strawberry Sorbet
Use this everyday before I put on any make up. It's a must!!

4. NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny
I use this to slightly contour my face everyday (yes! everyday!) just so that I can have the illusion of a slimmer face lol

5. Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Spotless Foundation in Medium Beige
I used to use a tinted moisturiser everyday just because I did't like a full coverage for work. But I decided to find something in my foundation drawer for something lightweight so I can pull it off for work and this is definitely a great foundation for work! It's so lightweight, as if you're not wearing anything. And the staying power is good too; lasted for about 10 hours on me. This shade is a tad bit dark for me but I managed.

6. Sigma Large Angled Contour - F40 brush
I use this every day to apply my blush. Love this! Will never use anything different!

7. NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink
I wear this under a lipstick or wear it on its own. It is a pretty colour, your lip colour but better! Looks so natural for every day.

8. Wet n Wild Color Icon brow liner in Mink Brown
A creamy and easy to blend brow liner for me since I am considered a newbie with filling in my brows.

9. Essence Get Big Lashes! Volume Curl Mascara in Black
I have to ,have to, have to (!) wear mascara, whether it's just going out to get groceries or whatever, I need to wear mascara otherwise my eyes would look really dull. So this has been my go to mascara for the whole month, not amazing but it does the job!

So that is it for my March 2015 favourites! I hope I am able to do this every month for you guys. Let me know what your monthly favourites are! I would love to know!

Duwop Mini Private Lipsticks Collection

I won't want to go in depth with the description of the colours because their names say it all. All of the colours are creamy and they are a satin finish. Private Pearl is an exclusive colour, it's a lipstick that acts as a top coat for a three dimensional shine and can be used on top of any Private Lipstick colour of your choice for a unique customised effect. It will make any shade of lipstick one of a kind!

What is interesting about these lipsticks?
They are actually self adjusting lipsticks! How cool is that?! They are ultra luxe lipsticks that adjusts with pH levels to give you the most flattering shade for your skin tone. This means, that these lipsticks will look different on everyone! Amazing! And though they are minis, they actually have a good size! They will last you for a long time.

Milani Baked Powder Blushes

Afternoon everybody.

Today's post is all about blushes! I LOVE blushes! Blushes are my favourite to collect and out of all my make up collection, I have collected blushes the most. But don't get me wrong, I do use them, change them quite often depending on my mood. Something that I will never leave the house without.

So lets start off by looking at the pretty gold packaging..

There are 9 shades altogether (that I know) and I will be showing you 8 of them. The only shade that I did not get was Red Vino. The packaging is a sturdy plastic, it has a clear top which is neat so you can actually see the colours and when you open the top, you will be able to flip the middle part (which is where the blush is placed) and you'll get a small mirror and brush.

01 Dolce Pink

02 Rose D'Oro

03 Berry Amore

05 Luminoso

06 Bellissimo Bronze

08 Corallina

10 Delizioso Pink

11 Bella Rosa

Close up swatches:

L to R: 01 Dolce Pink, 02 Rose D'Oro, 03 Berry Amore, 05 Luminoso

L to R: 06 Bellissimo Bronze, 08 Corallina, 10 Delizioso Pink, 11 Bella Rosa

All of the shades except for Delizioso Pink and Bella Rosa have slight shimmer on the pan but it gives a nice sheen when wearing them. Delizioso Pink and Bella Rosa do not have any sheen or shimmer to them. They are both matte. Pigmentation for these blushes are AMAZING! So so worth the money I feel.

Product Details:
"This silky blush with benefits can be used so many ways. It shapes, it contours, it highlights. Sunbaked on Italian terracotta tiles, it’s buildable from sheer to vibrant. Yes, it adds a cheeky pop of colour to your complexion. Radiance and warmth, too."

Quantity: 0.12oz/3.5g

Price: SGD 14.90

Available at: Bella Quirks (ships to Brunei)

Don't be scared to use the blushes! They make look scary on the pan, believe me, I was too, it was sparkle overload but when you dab your brush in it and applies so smooth and the shimmers do not transfer to your face. You will get a dewy fresh look on your cheeks. You can use some of the shades for highlight too. I know a few who loves Luminoso as a cheek highlight.

My personal favourite? Definitely Berry Amore! It suits well with my NW20 skintone.

Give this blush a try and you'll understand what I mean. Let me know down in the comments below which colours are your favourite. Ciao!

Muji Dupes!

Hey you!

I have made up my mind, for my last post of the day, I would like to talk about organisers instead of make up. So, if you are a neat freak like me, you would love to have all your make up organised and preferably visible so you don't forget to use them.

I would love to have Muji drawers, but you can't get them in Brunei and when you can get your hands on them, they are pretty expensive. So I have found dupes for them, here, in Brunei! Yay me!!

Look at that! Don't they look neat and Muji-like? Lol. I got them for so cheap! So I'll mention the details down below later but what I want to talk about now is that here is where I've put most of my lipsticks and lip glosses and on top, you can see I have my skincare products, tweezers and my everyday brushes. This way, I find myself reaching them more often rather than having them tucked away in my Ikea Alex drawer.

They are NOT drawers, they are actually trays where you can stack them on top of each other thus it gives you the illusion of having a drawer. Hehe! Here you see two different sizes, one which has a shorter height and the other has a medium height. There is one more size  available which has the same height as a MAC brush cleanser's bottle.

So when you want to take any of your lipsticks or lip glosses, you can just lift the top trays and voila! Not as convenient as having a drawer but it is worth the "hassle" for the price. Each tray fits 24 MAC lipsticks (short height). This can also fit MAC eyeshadows but would not fit anything that is more than 2cm tall otherwise it will be difficult for you to stack them. The medium ones can fit paint pots, compact powders but will not fit the Guerlain Meteorites tins.

Product Details:
Price: BND 4 - BND 10 per tray depending on the height
Available at: Any Hua Ho Department Stores at the containers section

So if you like how this looks, which by the way looks gorgeous on my vanity table, you can go check out Hua Ho and see if they have it. But beware, they are always out of stock! But they do restock them quite fast so check them in two weeks time? They'll probably have them by then. So what do you think? You think you like? Lol! Let me know in the comments down below which ones you got! xx

Edited on 18/03/15: I just found my deeper tray that was tucked away for some reason but I now have it to store some of my bigger palettes and now placed nicely on my vanity table.

Stored inside: Urban Decay 15th Anniversary eyeshadow palette, MAC 15 Cool Neutral eyeshadow palette, Z palette, Michelle Phan Night palette, Sigma LE Paris palette and Sigma Bare, Dare and Flare palettes.
8 big palettes can fit in this tray.

Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows

Hi loves!

I am on a roll today! I would probably do another post after this but after doing the Cinderella palette post, I was thinking of doing a post about products that you can actually get in Brunei and as you know, it is pretty difficult and expensive to get makeup here. So what I am going to do from now on, I will try to talk about make up you could actually find and buy. So starting with this, I will talk about Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows.

Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows

Look how pretty they look in the pots! This was my first few Catrice items that I got and I have to say, I am so impressed! With the price, you can't beat it! It has a good pigmentation, they are creamy and butter too. You can wear them wet or dry, according to your personal preference. And I honestly would compare them to the Urban Decay eyeshadows.

They have 9 shades altogether but I only got 5 and I might get the other 4 soon. With or without primer, the staying power is awesome! You get extra 3-4 hours staying power with primer but how many hours are there in a day for you to wear eyeshadows right? Lol. They don't fade easily and coming from someone who has semi-oily lids, that means a lot!

Catrice Liquid Metal Eyeshadows

From L to R:
020 Gold n' Roses: A metallic baby pink colour with silver and gold sparkles
070 Gold Leaf Me: A metallic olive colour with gold sparkles
060 Petrol Pan: In the pan it looks turquoise but it actually is a metallic ocean blue with silver sparkles

090 Nougat It Right: (Personal favourite!) A warm toned metallic brown with gold sparkles
050 We're The Inner Purple: A metallic purple with silver sparkles

All the liquid metal eyeshadows are metallic (doh!) and have sparkles to them. You do get a bit of a fall out when applying but I suggest wearing them wet so the sparkles would stick and you get more pigmentation out of them. I love them so much especially with a price tag like that, you can't pass them up!

Product Details: "Colours with high pigmentation for an extraordinary metallic shine: the silky powder with a chrome effect is reminiscent of liquid metal. Its innovative texture with maximum pigmentation and intense colour-dispersion is sure to make your eyes shine instantly. The unique 3D embossment turns this eyeshadow into an absolute highlight. Nine metallic nuances for every day, every mood, every style."

Price: BND 5 - BND 8 (I don't really remember, sorry!) **If you have the Paloma discount card like I do, you will get a 15% discount on top of this price!

Available at: Paloma Store, The Mall Gadong

Quantity: 3g/0.10oz of product per pan

So what are you waiting for ladies? Head over to Gadong and get your hands on these babies cause they are great whether you are a collector like me and you just want to add them in your collection or you're just starting out with make up. Let me know what shades you got and your thoughts xx

MAC Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette

Hi loves!

I'm back today with an interesting post (at least for me!) and it is the MAC Cinderella Eyeshadow palette.

Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette

First of all, I was a bit skeptical on doing a post on this palette as it is a limited edition palette but given that most of the eyeshadows are from the permanent line, I would go ahead and just do it. Look how pretty the palette is! Packaging is periwinkle with little blue sparkles all over and it also has a gold trimming separating the shadows. I wish it had a Cinderella silhoutte on the plastic cover but it's all good!
Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow Palette

This palette is the only item that I got from the collection. Even though most of the colours are from the permanent line, and I have some of the colours in the pots myself, I really like how MAC has put all of these colours together. They all go well together, each colour compliments one another.

The shades (from L to R):
  • Vapour (Velvet): This colour is described as a peach pink with violet pearl. (Permanent)
  • Phloof! (Frost): This colour is described as a frosted off white. (Permanent)
  • Omega (Matte): This colour is described as a soft muted beige taupe. (Permanent)
  • Quarry (Matte): This colour is described as a  soft muted plum brown. (Permanent)
  • Satin Taupe (Frost): This colour is described as a taupe with silver shimmer. (Permanent)
  • Stroke of Midnight (Velvet): This colour is described as a black plum with sparkle pearl. (Limited Edition)
Product details:
  • 1.2g of each product (and that is a LOT of product!)
  • The price is SGD 80 (inclusive of GST) so it's approximately SGD 13.33 per eye shadow.
Overall, I am surprised with how great the pigmentation is! When MAC comes out with limited edition palettes, the pigmentation of the eyeshadows are usually crappy. (and I know cause I collect them! Lol) But the Simpsons palettes are great as well. So good job MAC! I am happy with my purchase but it is not something that is a must have. If you like, you can get 5 out of the 6 eyeshadows individually. But if you don't have any MAC eyeshadows then this palette is a good buy. Since it is a limited edition palette, I am unsure if you are able to get your hands on them. So hopefully, it is still available in stores.

So that is it for this post. I hope this was helpful for you guys! Until then.

Toodles!
